THE HANSON BROTHER'S BATTLE OF THE BADGES CHARITY HOCKEY GAME
On Tuesday, September 20th, 2011 the Hanson Brothers from the Movie Slap Shot will be joining the Winnipeg Police Service Patrolmen Hockey Club to play in the Battle of the Badges Charity Hockey. The game is in support of the Amadeus Steen Foundation, and is scheduled to take place at the St.James Civic Centre, which will begin at 7:00 p.m. The Patrolmen will be facing off against the Emergency Service and Celebrity All Stars.
 
The event will be hosted by retired NHL referee Kerry Fraser, who will be policing the ice. In addition to the Hanson Brothers, the following Winnipeg Jets Legends and NHL Alumni are scheduled to participate;  Councillor Thomas Steen, Joe Daley, Ab McDonald, Russ Romaniuk, Ray Neufeld, Perry Miller, Mike Ford, Jimmy Mann, Trevor Kidd, and Wayne Babych.
 
A news briefing will be held today at 2:00 p.m. at the Forks Market Centre Court. The following individuals will be present and available for interview:

The Winnipeg Police Service Community Relations Unit will be offering Winnipeg School Patrols free entry to the game as one of their various rewards for their dedication and service to their schools and community. 
 
The Amadeus Steen Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the well-being of children in Manitoba and beyond by supporting worthwhile initiatives that provide opportunities for children to be healthy, to learn and play.
 
The Winnipeg Police Service and the Winnipeg Police Service Patrolmen Hockey Club, would like to encourage all those attending the game to drop off new or used hockey equipment, in support of the North End Hockey Program.
 
The Winnipeg Police Service Patrolmen Hockey Club has raised over $200,000.00 for Manitoba based charities.
