Tuesday, September 20th, 2011 THE MARYK CHILDREN CHILD ABDUCTION C08-184322 Emily CABLEK last saw her two children on August 16th, 2008. Shortly thereafter, Dominic and Abby were on a court ordered visitation with their father Kevin MARYK when he abducted them. Investigators believe they remain in their father's custody at this time and that they may have been taken out of the country. Investigators also believe that Kevin MARYK may be in the company of his nephew, Cody MCKAY and MARYK's associate, Robert GROEN. There are Canada Wide Warrants in effect for Kevin MARYK, Cody MCKAY, and Robert GROEN, for their roles in the abduction of these children. Dominic MARYK Abby MARYK These photos were taken when Dominic was 7 years old and his sister, Abby, 5 years old, along with recently completed age progression photographs of each child. Dominic is now 10 years old and his sister Abby is now 9 years old. Their appearances, including their height, weight, hair color and length could now be very different. Investigators are of the belief that acquaintances, friends, or family members may have knowledge as to the whereabouts of the children. Certain individuals may also be enabling them to stay hidden from the authorities by providing them with shelter or financial support. Anyone having knowledge of this occurring is asked to come forward and provide the necessary information required to locate Dominic and Abby and reunite them with their Mother. SHOOTING UPDATE C11-198533 On September 19th, 2011, at approximately 4:35 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service and other emergency personnel responded to the 600 block of Dufferin Avenue regarding a firearm discharge. The investigation has revealed that a 17 year old male, while outside a residence was confronted by several unknown males. One of the suspects produced a firearm and discharged it in the direction of the victim. The victim was struck in the lower body at which time the suspects fled the area. Attending members located the injured male at which he was conveyed to hospital in unstable condition. He remains in hospital in stable condition. No arrest(s) have been made at this time. The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
