Friday, September 16th, 2011 HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION- UPDATE ARREST C11-191537 As previously released, on September 10th, 2011 at approximately 2:40 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a stabbing incident which occurred in the area of College Avenue and Aikins Street. The Winnipeg Police Service was later notified that the victim, a 15 year old male, had succumbed to his injuries On Wednesday, September 14th, 2011, an 18 year old male was arrested and is now facing a charge of 2nd Degree Murder. He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre. The investigation continued by members of the Homicide Unit. On September 15th, 2011 at approximately 11:50 a.m., investigators arrested a 14 year old male at the Manitoba Youth Centre who was wanted in connection to the incident. He has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder and detained. MALE WANTED Robert GROEN C08-184322 R11-11536 The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating a 41 year old wanted male, Robert GROEN. GROEN was last seen on February 6th, 2011, leaving his residence in Winnipeg, Manitoba and is believed to have left the country. His current whereabouts is unknown. GROEN is a known associate of Kevin MARYK. The Winnipeg Police Service's investigation into the abduction of Abby and Dominic MARYK in 2008 has revealed that GROEN had assisted Kevin Maryk in the abduction. As such, he is currently wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant. GROEN is described as: Caucasian, 5'9" tall, 160lbs, medium build and has shaved brown hair, with green eyes. Anyone who has had contact with Robert GROEN over the last two years, or has information regarding his whereabouts or the Abduction is asked to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 986-6250.
