Winnipeg Police Service News Release

INJURED MALE INVESTIGATION         C11-201894
On September 24th, 2011 at approximately 2:30 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service Division 11 members responded to the area of Maryland Street and Notre Dame Avenue for a report of an injured male.
 
Upon arrival, officers and emergency services responders located an adult male who appeared to have been assaulted.  Paramedics transported the 35 year old male victim to the hospital in unstable condition. 
 
The victim has since been upgraded to stable condition. 
 
This investigation is ongoing by members of the Division 11 Crime Unit.  Anyone who has any information regarding the incident or the suspect(s) is asked to call 986-6668 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
FIRE INVESTIGATION                        C11-201970
On September 24th, 2011 shortly before 4:30 a.m. emergency services responders were dispatched to a working fire in the parking lot of 100 Prevette Street.
 
Upon arrival, fire crews worked to extinguish the fire which had damaged a wooden fence as well as two vehicles.  Damage is estimated at $35,000.00.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
 
The Arson Strike Force is continuing with this investigation.  Anyone who has information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 986-6813.
