MISSING PERSON – Phoebe Anne WILSON C15-135755
The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating a 26-year-old female, Phoebe Anne WILSON. WILSON was last seen in the East Kildonan area of Winnipeg on Saturday June 27, 2015. 
 
WILSON is described as a Caucasian female, 5'3" tall, approximately 140 pounds, with shoulder length curly blonde hair.  She was last seen wearing a white sweater, dark jeans, black Converse shoes, dark reading glasses and carrying a beige purse.  She also has a nose ring.
 

 


 
Police are concerned for WILSON'S well-being and are asking anyone with information regarding her whereabouts to contact the Winnipeg Police Service Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250.

River Heights – Theft from Motor Vehicles – Arrests – C15-135502
On June 29, 2015 between 12:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., two male suspects attended to the area of Cambridge Street and Corydon Avenue, where they entered vehicles and began stealing property from area residents. The incidents are as follows:

  • 1100 block of Grosvenor Avenue - Cadillac Escalade
  • 700 block of Dorchester Avenue – Chevrolet Silverado
  • 300 block of Arlington Street – Honda Civic

 
An area resident observed the two males rummaging through a car in the area of Cambridge Street and Corydon Avenue at which time police were notified.

Both suspects were located and arrested in the area of Grant Avenue and Cambridge Street. They were found to be in possession of illegal drugs, stolen property, weapons and break-in tools.

Joseph Teddy MCKAY, 21-years-old has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
Possession of a Scheduled Substance
Possession of Break-In Instruments
Possession of an Identity Document
Possession of a Weapon
Theft Under $5000.00 x 3

Emeleo Alexander COLE, 21-years-old has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:

Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
Theft Under $5000.00 x 3
Fail to Comply with Probation Order x 2

Both males were remanded into custody.


Update – Stabbing Arrest – C15-135427
As previously released – On June 29, 2015 at approximately 12:30 a.m., Division 11 officers were patrolling in the area of Furby Street and Ellice Avenue when they observed a female in need of assistance.

The female was stabbed and required immediate medical assistance. She was transported to hospital in critical condition, but has since been upgraded to stable.

The investigation has revealed that a group of people known to each other had been consuming alcohol at the rear of a residence located in the 500 block of Ellice Avenue. An argument erupted and the victim was stabbed.

Officers in the area heard the victim calling for help and immediately attended to her location.   

An adult male suspect was located in a vehicle nearby. Gordon JACKSON, 56-years-old has been charged with the following due to his alleged involvement:

Aggravated Assault
Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance

Members of the Division 11 Crime Unit continued to investigate.

He was remanded into custody.


Aggravated Assault Arrests – C15-135357
On June 29, 2015 at approximately 10:30 p.m., several individuals attended to a residence located in the 700 block of Simcoe Street and forced their way in.

The suspects while armed with a bat confronted one of the occupants and began assaulting him about the body rendering him unconscious.

The suspects fled in a vehicle and police were summoned. The victim, a 31-year-old male was transported to hospital with serious injuries. He was eventually stabilized due to the efforts of emergency personnel.

Patrol members and the Tactical Support Team located the suspects in the area of the 600 block of McGee Street.

Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued to investigate.

Kimberly Joyce Reimer, 37-years-old, Gordon Paul WENZEL, 28-years-old, Francis HARVEY, 28-years-old and Donald CARON, 39-years-old have been charged due to their alleged involvement: Some of the charges include:

Break Enter & Commit
Aggravated Assault
Uttering Threats x 4
Possession of a Weapon
Including several breaches

They were remanded into custody.

She was last seen wearing black shirt, black and white tights, and a black jacket. Information received that FAGNAN may be in the area of The Pas, Manitoba.

Sexual Assault – C15-132859
On June 25, 2015 at approximately 10:40 p.m., a 23-year-old female was walking on Atlantic Avenue between Parr Street and McKenzie Street when she was confronted by an unknown male on a bike.
 
The victim was on the sidewalk when the suspect rode past her and groped her in the upper body. Officers were also made aware of another similar incident, possibly involving the same male suspect.
 
The suspect is described as:
 
Male, 21-years-old, dark complexion, skinny build, short brown hair, wearing a white t-shirt, orange shorts and sandals.
 
The suspect's bike is described as:
 
Dark coloured, smaller mountain-style bike. The suspect was low to the ground when riding.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Division 13 Crime Unit. Anyone with further information is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-2848 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
Stabbing Investigation – C15-135427

Residential Robbery Investigation Update -
C15-102006

As previously released, on May 19, 2015, at approximately 7:00 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the 600 block of St. James Street for the report of a residential robbery.

Officers met with the 41-year-old victim who advised that a known female arrived at his door with an unknown female and two unknown males.  The four immediately began to assault him about the body.  He was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Members of the West District Crime Unit continued with the investigation and later arrested the two female suspects.

On June 24th, investigators sought the public's assistance in locating Gene Michael SOLDAT, 26 years of Winnipeg.

On June 25th shortly after 12:00 p.m. members of the East District Crime Unit located SOLDAT in the Elmwood area while investigating an unrelated matter.  He was arrested on the strength of the warrant and later detained in custody.

For his alleged involvement, SOLDAT has been charged with Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm, Forcible Confinement and Overcome Resistance by Attempting to Choke, Suffocate or Strangle Another Person.

Homicide Investigation Update – Arrest -
C15-122356

As previously released -On June 12, 2015 at approximately 5:35 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the banks of the Red River in the area of Lombard Avenue and Waterfront Drive regarding a body located.

It was determined that an off-duty Winnipeg Police Service member located the deceased near the water's edge.

The deceased male has been identified as 49-year-old, Jason Stinson of Beausejour, Manitoba. As a result of the completed autopsy, it has been determined that STINSON was shot while in the area of the banks of the Red River near Lombard Avenue and Waterfront Drive (Steven Juba Park) during daytime hours on Friday June 12th.

Detectives had determined that STINSON was previously the victim of an apparent assault on June 5, 2015 at approximately 7:00 p.m. while near the banks of the Red River in the 900 block of Kildonan Drive. STINSON sustained significant injuries requiring medical attention.

The investigation continued by members of the Homicide Unit who were able to identify a suspect and on the afternoon of June 25th investigators located and arrested Steven Anthony MORRISSEAU, 29 years of Winnipeg for his alleged involvement.

It was learned that on June 12th the victim and MORRISSEAU had been in the area under the train bridge consuming alcohol.  An argument between the two ended when MORRISSEAU produced a firearm and shot the victim in the upper body.

MORRISSEAUhas been charged with Second Degree Murder and was detained in custody.

Theft From Motor Vehicle – C15-125956
On June 17, 2015, at approximately 6:30 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service received the report of luggage being stolen from a vehicle parked in the downtown area.
 
Members met with the complainant, a visitor from China, who advised that he was in town to cover the FIFA Women's World Cup.  In his vehicle he had left, among other items, professional camera equipment locked within a suitcase.  In total, over $28,000.00 in property was stolen.
 
The following is a representation of some of the items stolen.

On May 29th police advised that DUCHARME had been arrested and requested the public's assistance in identifying the two involved males.
 
On June 22nd CEDERWALL was located and arrested on the strength of the warrant.
 
She was detained in custody.
 
An arrest warrant has been issued for the following male.
