Person Robberies Arrests – C14-86111
During the late evening of April 28, 2014 the Winnipeg Police Service received the reports of two separate persons having been robbed at gunpoint in the area of Andrews Street and Flora Avenue.  Neither victim was injured.
 
Several units, including the Tactical Support Team, immediately attended to the area.  At approximately 11:45 p.m. the three suspects were located and arrested without incident near Flora Avenue and McGregor Street.  A sawed-off shotgun was recovered.
 
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.
 
Clarence ROSS-SINCLAIR 18 years of Winnipeg has been charged with several robbery and weapons related offences for his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 
Two male youths, 14 & 16 years of age, of Winnipeg have also been charged with several robbery and weapons related offences for their alleged involvement.
 
Both were detained at the Manitoba Youth Centre.

Person Robbery – C14-85291
On April 27, 2014 at 11:00 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the area of Ruskin Row and Wellington Crescent for the report of four males having been robbed.
 
The four victims advised that they had been approached by a male asking for a cigarette.  When told that they did not have one, the suspect produced a weapon and demanded their property.  All four males complied after which the suspect walked away and was seen to get into a waiting vehicle.
 
No injuries were reported.
 
The suspect is described as: Aboriginal in appearance, 25 - 28 years of age, 5'10" - 6' tall with a heavy build.  He was clean shaven with stubble under his chin and a possible tattoo of a flame on his right wrist.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter or the identity of the suspect(s) is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
 

Commercial Robbery – C14-85344
On April 28, 2014 shortly after 12:00 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service members were dispatched to a convenience store in the 1100 block of St Marys Road.
 
Officers met with the clerk who advised that an armed male with his identity disguised had entered the store.  The male demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes after which he fled.
 
The clerk was not injured.
 
Suspect described as: approximately 5'8" tall with a slim - medium build.

Motor Vehicle Collision Involving A Pedestrian – C14-85546
On April 28, 2014 at approximately 8:45 a.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of Grosvenor Avenue and Wilton Street for the report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
 
A teenage youth was located suffering injuries as a result of being struck by a vehicle.  He was transported to hospital in critical condition.
 
The intersection of Grosvenor Avenue and Wilton Street remains closed to all traffic at this time.

No further information is available at this time.

Assistance / Water Rescue – C14-84488
On April 26, 2014 shortly after 10:30 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of The Forks for the report of a female in the Red River.
 
Due to the excellent co-ordination efforts of uniform officers, AIR1 and the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service's Water Rescue Team, the female was located in the area of the Alexander docks where she was safely pulled from the river.
 
The female was transported to hospital in stable condition.

The Winnipeg Police Service is requesting the public's assistance in locating a 17 year old male, Isaiah MICHELL.
 
MICHELL  is described as Aboriginal, 5'11" tall, 150 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes.  He was last seen on February 20, 2014.  He is known to frequently attend   to the Gilbert Park and North End areas of Winnipeg.
 
Police are concerned for MICHELL's well being. Anyone with information regarding her whereabouts is asked to contact the Missing Persons Unit at 204-986-6250.

Weapons Arrests – C14-83790
On April 26, 2014 at approximately 12:45 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service members were in the area of Sherbrook Street and Ross Avenue when they heard the sound of a shot.
 
Shortly after, a Dodge Caravan was observed travelling at a high rate of speed.   Officers were able to catch up and conduct a traffic stop near the intersection of Isabel Street and Logan Avenue.  The 9 occupants within the vehicle were taken into custody without incident. 
 
Located and seized from within the vehicle were the following weapons:

  • Loaded .303 calibre sawed off rifle
  • .22 calibre sawed off rifle
  • Machete
  • 2 cans of bear spray

Members of the Division 11 Crime Unit continued with the investigation.  It was learned that earlier in the evening the suspects had been involved in a physical altercation with a group of unknown persons.  In retaliation, the suspects had discharged one of the firearms in the area of Alexander Avenue and Sherbrook Street.  No injuries reported.
 
Chester ROULETTE 18 years, Jordan Stephan BERENS 18 years & Justin Garrett BERENS 25 years, all of Winnipeg, have been charged with numerous weapons related offences for their alleged involvement.
 
All three were detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 
Two other males, 16 & 17 years of age, from Winnipeg have also been charged with numerous weapons related offences for their alleged involvement.
 
Both were detained at the Manitoba Youth Centre.
 
The four other occupants were later released without charge.

Aggravated Assault Arrest – C14-83856
On April 26, 2014 shortly before 3:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched for the report of a male assaulted outside a convenience store in the area of Keewatin Street and Logan Avenue.
 
Officers arrived to find a 52 year old male suffering from upper body wounds.  He was transported to hospital in stable condition.
 
The male suspect was located and arrested at the scene.
 
Members of the Division 11 Crime Unit continued with the investigation.
 
It was learned that the victim had been standing outside the store when the accused stole his beer.  A physical altercation between the two ended when the accused stabbed the victim in the upper body.  The accused then proceeded to force his way into the store, breaking a window in the process.
 
The altercation was witnessed by store personnel who contacted police.
 
Mitchell Eric COCHRANE 23 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Mischief Under $5000.00 & Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purposes due to his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.

Commercial Robberies Arrest – C14-83600
Since the beginning of April, 2014 the Winnipeg Police Service has received the report of several commercial robberies.  They include:

  • April 2, 2014 in the 2300 block of Ness Avenue
  • April 4, 2014 in the 2300 block of Ness Avenue
  • April 6, 2014 in the 2400 block of Portage Avenue
  • April 11. 2014 in the 2300 block of Ness Avenue
  • April 24, 2014 in the 2000 block of Pembina Highway
  • April 25, 2014 in the 400 block of River Avenue
  • April 25, 2014 in the 2200 block of Pembina Highway
  • April 25, 2014 in the 2200 block of Pembina Highway

In each of the incidents the suspect either produced a weapon or implied that he had one.  In all but one, the suspect obtained undisclosed amounts of monies.
 
No one was injured during any of the incidents.
 
On April 25, 2014 at approximately 8:00 p.m. the suspect attended to a business in the 700 block of Portage Avenue where he approached the clerk, demanding money.  When the clerk refused, the suspect left the business after which police were contacted.
 
Several police units attended and the suspect was located and arrested without incident in the immediate area.
 
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.
 
John Victor Andrew MUNROE 30 years has been charged with numerous robbery related offences for his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 
 
UPDATE:   Teanna Beaton has been safely located.

Suspicious Person – C14-83614
On April 25, 2014 shortly after 8:00 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched for the report of a suspicious person.
 
Attending officers met with the 7 year old complainant.  She stated that she had been playing outside her residence in the area of Sanford Fleming Road and Plessis Road when a male in a truck pulled up.  The male asked her to get into the vehicle and when she refused, offered her candy.  She immediately ran and notified her parents.
 
The driver is described as:Caucasian male, 20-30 years of age.
 
The vehicle is described as:newer model white four door car.

Search Warrant Arrests – C14-82663
Recently members of the District 3 Community Support Unit became involved in a drug investigation.  As a result of the investigation members applied for and were granted a Controlled Drugs & Substances Act search warrant for a residence in the 1st 100 block of Hutton Street.
 
On April 24, 2014 with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team the warrant was executed.  Three males located within the residence were arrested without incident.
 
A search of the residence resulted in the seizure of the following:

  • .32 calibre Beretta handgun with ammunition
  • 14 grams of powder cocaine with an estimated street value of $1120.00
  • 32 grams of marihuana with an estimated street value of $320.00
  • 17 ecstasy pills with an estimated street value of $170.00
  • 31 Clonazepam pills with an estimated street value of $62.00
  • Drug paraphernalia
  • $5510.00 in Canadian Currency

Lloyd Rodney BEARDY 28 years of Winnipeg has been charged with several drug and firearms related offences for his alleged involvement.

He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
 
Two males, both 20 years of age, from Winnipeg are also facing several drug and weapons charges as a result of their alleged involvement.
 
Both were released via Promises to Appear.
 
 
Suspicious Person – C14-83497
On April 25, 2014 Winnipeg Police Service members were dispatched for the report of a suspicious person.
 
Officers met with the 6 year old complainant who advised that at approximately 5:00 p.m. she had been playing outside her residence in the area of McCalman Avenue and Chester Street.  As she was walking along the sidewalk she observed a vehicle following her.  When she got to the intersection she turned back towards home at which point the driver made a U-turn and continued to follow.  She ran home and told her mother.
 
At no time did the male make any type of contact with the child.
 
The driver is described as a brown male with black hair.  He was driving a blue truck.

Suspicious Person – C14-83614
On April 25, 2014 shortly after 8:00 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched for the report of a suspicious person.
 
Attending officers met with the 7 year old complainant.  She stated that she had been playing outside her residence when a male in a truck pulled up.  The male asked her to get into the vehicle and when she refused, offered her candy.  She immediately ran and notified her parents.
 
The driver is described as: Caucasian male, 20-30 years of age.
 
The vehicle is described as: newer model white four door car.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the East District Crime Unit.  Anyone who has any information regarding the incident or the suspect is asked to contact investigators at (204)986-2857 or Crime Stoppers at (204)786-TIPS (8477).
