Winnipeg Police Service News Release

Sunday, September 25th, 2011 4:45 p.m.     BODY LOCATED IN RIVER                C11-203013 On Sunday, September 25th, 2011 just before 2:00 p.m. emergency services responders were dispatched to the river bank area near the 2100 block of Henderson Highway for a report of a body within the river.    Upon arrival, a body was located and removed from the water.  The Winnipeg Police Service Underwater Search and Recovery Unit will be assisting with this investigation.   This investigation is continuing.    Further information regarding this matter will not be released today.      For further information contact either: Constable Natalie Aitken, Public Information Officer Constable Jason Michalyshen, Public Information Officer Office: (204)986-3061 Fax: (204) 986-3267 Email: WPS-PIO@Winnipeg.ca   Web: www.winnipeg.ca/Police
