Sunday, September 25th, 2011 HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION C11-202815 On Sunday, September 25th, 2011 at approximately 4:20 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service members responded to the area of Boyd Avenue and Andrews Street to check on the well being of a report of an injured male. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased adult male. As a result of the police investigation, Boyd Avenue between Andrews Street and McGregor Street remains closed at this time. Anyone who has any information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Homicide Unit at 986-6805 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477). FIRE INVESTIGATION C11-202812 On September 25th, 2011 at approximately 4:10 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service members along with emergency services responders were dispatched to the 1st 100 block of Talbot Avenue for reports of a working fire. Upon arrival, fire-fighters worked quickly to extinguish a garage in the rear lane that was on fire. Two vehicles, one on either side of this garage, were also damaged. Estimates are reported to be in excess of $40,000.00 Members of the Arson Strike Force are investigating this incident. A cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
