STRONGARM ROBBERY ARRESTS   C12-202326
On Saturday, October 6, 2012 at approximately 7:40 p.m., General Patrol Members responded to the area of the 400 block of Graham Avenue for the report of a strongarm robbery.
 
The investigation revealed that a 29 year old male was waiting for a transit bus in the area when two unknown males approached him from behind and assaulted him and stole his personal property before fleeing from the area.
 
The victim sustained minor injury to his upper body and was conveyed to hospital in stable condition.
 
While attending members were investigating this matter, police were called to the area of the 300 block of Portage Avenue for another report of a strongarm robbery.
 
General Patrol Members attended and located the two male suspects who were identified as the suspects responsible for the strongarm robbery of the 29 year old male in the 400 block of Graham Avenue.
 
The investigation revealed that the male suspects attended to the area of the 300 block of Portage Avenue at which time they confronted two male victims and stole personal items from them. The suspects attempted to flee from the area but was apprehended by mall security and held for police.
 
The victims left the area before police arrived on scene.
 
A 19 year old male of Winnipeg, has been charged with: Robbery with Violence. He has been detained in custody.
 
A 17 year old male of Winnipeg has been charged with: Robbery with Violence. He was detained in custody.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Division 11 Crime Unit.
 
Investigators are requesting victims of the strongarm robbery that took place in the 300 block of Portage Avenue contact police regarding the incident.  Police are also requesting to speak with a third victim of a strongarm robbery that took place at Portage Avenue and Donald Street at approximately 6:50 p.m. the same date.
