Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

Tuesday, October 16, 2012   ASSAULT   C12-208556 On Monday, October 15, 2012 at approximately 4:30 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of Pacific Avenue West for the report of an assault.     An investigation revealed that a 7 year old female and two 10 year old males were walking in the area when they were approached by an adult male, unknown to them. The male attempted to engage the youths in conversation and while doing he assaulted the 7 year old female by touching her over her clothing. The youths were able to alert a passer-by who came to their aid at which time, the male suspect immediately fled from the area.   The victims did not sustain injury as a result of the incident.   The suspect is described as: Male, Caucasian, approximately 40 – 50 years old, 5'5" tall with an average to chubby build, grey hair with a grey beard. He was wearing a black jacket and a blue toque.   The investigation is continuing by members of the Criminal Investigations Bureau. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-3296 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
