Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

Saturday, October 13, 2012     HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION UPDATE – ARREST C12-177621 As previously released - on Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at approximately 8:00 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of the 300 block of Aberdeen Avenue regarding a serious assault.   Responding members located an injured 16 year old male who had been assaulted. Due to the serious nature of the assault, the victim succumbed to injuries sustained.   As previously acknowledged, Michael James GUIMOND, 34 years and Richard Daniel BEAULIEU, 36 years were arrested and charged with Manslaughter due to their alleged involvement.   On October 12, 2012, at approximately 3:55 p.m., Warner Dairren FLETT, 24 years of Winnipeg was located in the 300 block of Aberdeen Avenue where he was arrested and taken into custody. He has been charged with Manslaughter due to his alleged involvement. He has been detained in custody.   The investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit.    Anyone that may have witnessed or have any information regarding this incident is asked to contact police at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).     COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C12-206301 On Friday, October 12, 2012 at approximately 4:55 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of the 300 block of Broadway Avenue regarding a commercial robbery of a restaurant.   Attending members learned that a male suspect armed with a weapon attended the restaurant and approached a lone 45 year old female employee. The suspect demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing from the restaurant.   The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.   The suspect is described as: Male, 20 - 30 years old, dark skinned, 5'8"– 5'9" tall with a medium build.   The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8777).   For further information contact either: Patrol Sgt.
