COMMERCIAL ROBBERY  C12-205806
On Thursday, October 11, 2012 at approximately 11:40 p.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of the 1000 block of McPhillips Street regarding a commercial robbery of a convenience store.
 
Attending members learned that a lone male suspect armed with a weapon and wearing a disguise, attended the store and approached a 38 year old male employee. The suspect demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cigarettes before fleeing from the store.
 
The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.
 
The suspect is described as a Caucasian male, approximately 5'10" tall with a slim build.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8777).
 
 
SERIOUS MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION INVOLVING A PEDESTRIAN  – ARREST UPDATE   C12-197531
As previously released - on September 30, 2012, at approximately 3:55 a.m., emergency personnel responded to the area of Lagimodiere Boulevard (Highway 59 ramp) at the South Perimeter (100) as a result of a serious motor vehicle collision.
 
The investigation revealed that an 18 year old male was walking in the northbound median lane near the concrete divider when he was struck by a north bound vehicle. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. The male victim sustained serious injuries and was conveyed to hospital where he remained in critical condition.  
 
At approximately 1:30 p.m., the same date, a 27 year old male turned himself into police. He was charged with Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident Cause Bodily Harm, (HTA) Drive without a licence (Invalid).
 
The victim has since succumbed to his injures.
 
On Thursday, October 11, 2012, the charge of Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident Cause Bodily Harm was upgraded. The 27 year old male is now facing a charge of Fail to Remain at the Scene of an Accident Cause Death.
 
The Investigation is continuing.
 
 
SERIOUS SEXAUL ASSAULT C12 -195858
On Friday, September 28, 2012 at approximately 5:30 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a serious sexual assault which occurred in the 800 block of Murray Road.
 
An investigation revealed that at approximately 2:30 a.m., a 21 year old female was walking on Jarvis Avenue in the Point Douglas area when a lone male operating a vehicle offered the female a ride. The female obliged at which time the male drove to the area of the 800 block of Murray Road and it was at this time that a serious sexual assault occurred.
 
The victim sustained injury requiring medical attention.
 
The following is a composite drawing of the male suspect:
 
 
 
 
The suspect is described as: Male, Aboriginal or Middle Eastern in appearnce, 25 - 30 years old, 5'7" - 5'8" tall, 160 - 170 pounds, with short black hair and a goatee. 
 
The suspect vehicle is described as an: Older model two door blue (dark or royal blue) single cab light pickup truck, manual five speed transmission. 
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Sex Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6245 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
