UPDATE - AGGRAVATED ASSAULT – ARREST C12-211281
As previously released – On October 19, 2012, at approximately 6:55 a.m., officers and other emergency personnel responded to a suite located in the 300 block of Regent Avenue East regarding a stabbing incident.
 
Attending members discovered that a small drinking party had taken place. During the early morning hours of October 19th, a 50 year old male resident requested that a 40 year old male acquaintance leave the party. The 40 year old male refused causing a physical confrontation to erupt. A 23 year old female attempted to break up the altercation at which the 40 year old male produced a knife. The 40 year old allegedly stabbed the 50 year old to the upper body causing a serious injury.  
 
The injured male was transported from the scene in critical condition. He is currently in unstable condition.
 
Gerald MUSTARD, 40 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Aggravated Assault due to his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained at the Winnipeg Remand Centre.  
 
FINANCIAL INSTITUTION ROBBERY C12-211627
On October 19, 2012, at approximately 6:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a financial institution located in the 500 block of Sargent Avenue due to a robbery that just occurred.
 
The investigation has revealed that a lone male attended to the business and approached a 49 year old female employee. It was at this time that the suspect demanded cash. An undisclosed amount was relinquished and the suspect fled the area.
 
No one was injured as a result of the incident.
 
The suspect is described as: Male, Caucasian, late 30's -40's, 5'4"-5'5" tall, 120- 130 lbs. and slim build.
 
The Investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact police at 204 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204 786-TIPS (8477).
