STABBING ARREST    C12-208090
On Monday, October 15, 2012 at approximately 12:00 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of the 1800 block of Midmar Avenue for the report of a stabbing.
 
Attending members located an 18 year old male with injury to his upper body consistent with being stabbed. The victim was conveyed to hospital and is in stable condition.
 
An investigation revealed that a 32 year old female known to the victim, attended to the location where a gathering was taking place. The female requested the assistance of the victim at a nearby location, to which he obliged. Once at the location a stabbing occurred. The suspect immediately fled from the area.
 
As a result of the coordinated efforts of Air1, Canine Unit, Tactical Support Team and General Patrol Members, the suspect was located a short time later hiding in the area of the first 100 block of Willowbank Street where she was arrested and taken into custody.
 
Lindee Marie BERENS, 32 years old of Winnipeg has been charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose and Fail to Comply with Condition of Recognizance X 4.
 
BERENS has been detained in custody.
