COMMERCIAL ROBBERY - ARRESTS   C12-213004
On Sunday, October 21, 2012 at approximately 10:00 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of the 500 block of Ellice Avenue for the report of a commercial robbery to a grocery store.
 
The investigation revealed that two female suspects armed with a knife attended to the location and confronted a 55 year old male employee. The suspects demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash and food items. The suspects then fled from the store.
 
Attending members searched the area and located both suspects in the area of Ellice Avenue and Maryland Street. They were arrested and taken into custody.
 
A 17 year old female of Winnipeg, has been charged with Robbery with Weapon, Failure to Comply with Sentence and Fail to Comply Conditions of Undertaking. She was detained in custody.
 
A 22 year old female of Winnipeg, has been charged with Robbery with Weapon and Fail to comply with Condition Recognizance. She was detained in custody.
 
 
FIREARM -  ARREST    C12-213004
On Sunday, October 21, 2012 at approximately 1:00 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of the first 100 block of Isabel Street for the report of a firearm incident.
 
Attending members learned that a lone male attended to the location armed with a firearm and approached a 52 year old male. An argument ensued at which time a 47 year old male and a 51year old female attempted to intervene. The suspect threatened all three victims and immediately fled from the location.
 
No one was injured as a result of this incident.
 
Attending members immediately searched the area. 
 
As a result of a coordinated search conducted by General Patrol Members, the Tactical Support Team and the Canine Unit, the suspect was located a short time later in the 100 block of Harriet Street. He was arrested and taken into custody.  A replica firearm was located and seized.  
 
Herminio Managoang ESTIPULAR, 44 years old of Winnipeg has been charged with:
 
Point Firearm X 3
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
Assault with a Weapon x3
Utter Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
 
ESTIPULAR was detained in custody.
 
 
SERIOUS SEXUAL ASSAULT  C12-212122
On Saturday, October 20, 2012, at approximately 7:30 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police responded to the report of a serious sexual assault that took place in the area of Burnell Street in the West End area.
 
An investigation revealed that a 19 year old female was walking the in the area of Isabel Street and William Avenue when a male approached her and initiated a conversation. The male and female continued their conversation as they walked in the area.
 
As the female and male reached the area of Burnell Street the male suspect grabbed the victim at which time a serious sexual assault occurred.
 
The suspect is described as: Aboriginal in appearance, 25 – 30 years old, 5'7" tall, skinny build with dark short hair wearing a blue jacket.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Sex Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6245 or CirmeStoppers at 204-986-TIPS (8477).
