Serious Motor Vehicle Collision – C14-198773
On September 17, 2014 at approximately 4:00 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the area of Pacific Avenue West and Cecil Street regarding a serious motor vehicle collision.
 
Attending members discovered that a male operating a stolen Ford Escape had been travelling eastbound on Pacific Avenue West approaching Cecil Street. After travelling through a two-way stop, the Ford Escape collided with a north-bound Chevrolet Cavalier. The two vehicles then struck a third vehicle, a Chevrolet Uplander parked on Pacific Avenue West.
 
As a result of the collision, the driver (31 year-old male) of the Cavalier sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital. He was later upgraded to stable condition.
 
The driver of the stolen Escape, also injured, attempted to flee the scene however he was prevented by passers-by and held until police arrival. The suspect produced a weapon and threatened to harm witnesses present. No one was injured.
 
A 38 year-old male was taken into custody and transported to hospital due to his injuries.
 
Alcohol appears to be a factor in the collision.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Central Traffic Unit.
 
 
Aggravated Assault Arrest – C14-188241
On September 16, 2014 at approximately 11:40 p.m., officers responded to the area of the 700 block of Main Street regarding an altercation and stabbing incident that just occurred.
 
The investigation revealed that a male and female known to each other became involved in a dispute. The female then produced a knife and stabbed the male multiple times. The female suspect fled the area on foot and emergency services were notified.
 
Patrol and Canine Unit members, with the assistance of Air1 located and apprehended the female suspect in the area of Higgins Avenue and Austin Street. While do so, the suspect became combative and kicked one of the officers in the lower body.
 
Denise CLARKSON, 45 years-old has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Assault a Peace Officer due to her alleged involvement.
 
She was remanded into custody.
 
 
Stabbing Investigation – C14198656
On September 17, 2014 at approximately 1:45 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the area of Vaughan Street and Graham Avenue regarding a fight incident involving numerous individuals.
 
The suspects who fled the area were reported to have been armed with knives. Officers located a 22 year-old male in the area of the 500 block of Balmoral Street suffering from upper body injuries as a result of being stabbed. He was transported from the scene in critical condition, later upgraded to stable.
