Commercial Robbery Arrest C14-195802
On September 13, 2014 at approximately 10:30 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to a hotel in the 3500 block of Pembina Highway for the report of a commercial robbery.
Upon arrival a suspect who was being held for police by patrons was arrested. A 25-year-old male was found to be suffering from upper body wounds. He was transported to hospital in stable condition.
Initial investigation revealed that armed male suspects had entered the business where they proceeded to steal an undisclosed amount of cash. The 25-year-old patron, while attempting to restrain one of the suspects, was injured. Other patrons assisted in subduing the suspect until police arrival. The other suspects made good their escape.
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.
A 27-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with Robbery, Disguise with Intent, Aggravated Assault & Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose for his alleged involvement.
He was detained in custody.

Lost Medication R14-67051
On September 15, 2014 the Winnipeg Police Service received the report of lost medication.
The complainant reported that on September 12, at approximately 1:00 p.m. he was at Portage Place Mall when he inadvertently left a brown, leather type satchel containing the following medications.
- 180 X 4mg HYDROMORPHONE HCL
- 115 X 5mg DIAZEPAM
- 60 X RANITIDINE
- 110 X TEMAZEPAM
- 21 X CREON 10
The Winnipeg Police Service reminds the public that taking large quantities of these medications alone or in combination with other drugs or alcohol could be dangerous to your health or fatal.
