Monday, September 15, 2014   Commercial Robbery Arrest – C14-195802 On September 13, 2014 at approximately 10:30 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to a hotel in the 3500 block of Pembina Highway for the report of a commercial robbery.   Upon arrival a suspect who was being held for police by patrons was arrested.  A 25-year-old male was found to be suffering from upper body wounds.  He was transported to hospital in stable condition.   Initial investigation revealed that armed male suspects had entered the business where they proceeded to steal an undisclosed amount of cash.  The 25-year-old patron, while attempting to restrain one of the suspects, was injured.  Other patrons assisted in subduing the suspect until police arrival.  The other suspects made good their escape.   Members of the Major Crimes Unit continued with the investigation.   A 27-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with Robbery, Disguise with Intent, Aggravated Assault & Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose for his alleged involvement.   He was detained in custody.   The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
