Robbery Arrest – C14-189715
Shortly after 1:00 a.m. on September 6, 2014 members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched for the report of a female having been robbed in the area of Qu'Appelle Avenue and Carlton Street.
 
Officers met with the 30-year-old, visibly pregnant, victim who related that she and her mother had been walking to the store when a male approached asking if she wanted to purchase drugs.  She declined and began to walk away at which time the suspect grabbed her purse in an attempt to steal it.  A brief struggle ensued which ended with the suspect making off with victim's purse.
 
The victim suffered minor injuries during the incident.
 
Members of the Division 11 Crime Unit continued with the investigation and were able to identify a suspect.
 
Later that morning, at approximately 6:00 a.m. Joseph Frederick PELLETIER, 35 years of Lake Manitoba First Nation was located and arrested in the downtown area without incident for his alleged involvement.
 
He has been charged with Robbery and was detained in custody.
