Drug Arrests – C14-189012
Recently, members of the Winnipeg Police Service Street Crime Unit became involved in a drug investigation regarding a residence in the 1400 block of Elgin Street.  As a result, officers applied for and were granted and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant.
 
On September 5, 2014 at approximately 3:00 p.m. the warrant was executed with the assistance of the Tactical Support Team.  The following was located and seized:

  • 2 kilograms of Crystal Methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $110,000.00
  • 6 ounces of Cocaine with an estimated street value of $10,800.00
  • 2 kilograms of cutting agent with an estimated street value of $2,000.00
  • Approximately $44,000 in Canadian currency
  • Packaging materials
  • Scales

While officers were on scene, two residents of the home arrived and were arrested without incident.
 
A 25-year-old male & 22-year-old female are both facing charges of Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – COCAINE, Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – METHAMPHETAMINE & Possess Proceeds of Crime for their alleged involvement.
 
Both were released via Promises to Appear.
