Break & Enter Arrest – C14-81418
Between March 28 and August 7, 2014 the Winnipeg Police Service received the reports of three commercial and one residential break & enters.  As well, a historical incident was found to be related.  They include:

  • March 28 – convenience store in the 900 block of Main Street
  • April 23 – restaurant in the 1400 block of Main Street
  • April 23 – residence in the 400 block of Salter Street
  • July 7 – business in the 1100 block of Main Street
  • August 7, 2001 - residence in the 600 block of Maryland Street.

Total damage was estimated at $5000.00, with approximately $3650.00 of goods stolen.
 
Members of the District 3 Crime Unit continued with the investigations and with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Unit a suspect was identified.  Attempts to locate the suspect were unsuccessful and a warrant for his arrest was obtained.
 
On September 14 the suspect was located and arrested by members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Lundar, MB Detachment.
 
On September 15 members of the Winnipeg Police Service attended to Lundar and took custody of the suspect.
 
Roland Charles SUTHERLAND, 43 years of Winnipeg has been charged with Break, Enter and Theft x 5 and Fail to Comply Recognizance x 6 for his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained in custody.
