Today's Statistics in Relation to Reduced Speeds in School Zones
In June of 2014 the City of Winnipeg Standing Policy Committee on Infrastructure Renewal and Public Works voted in favour of reducing speed limits in the area of elementary schools.
 
Starting the week of September 1, 2014 new reduced speeds in school zones came into effect.
 
Today, officers conducted enforcement at various school zone locations throughout the city. The following data is in relation to that enforcement between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.:
 
Warnings – 173
Tickets issued – 128
