Sexual Assault Investigation – C14-195217
On September 13, 2014 shortly after 4:30 a.m. the Winnipeg Police Service received the report of a sexual assault that had occurred in the 100 block of Henry Avenue.
 
Officers met with the 21 year old victim who advised that at approximately 4:00 a.m. she had been on Henry Avenue where she was assaulted by an unknown male.  This male proceeded to drag the victim a short distance away where he then committed a serious sexual assault upon her.  A bystander, hearing the victim's cries for help, came to her aid at which time the suspect fled.
 
The victim was transported to hospital in stable condition.
 
The suspect is described as: Aboriginal in appearance, 20-30 years of age with a skinny build and short black hair.  He was wearing green/grey outerwear and black jeans.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Sex Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6245 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
