INDECENT ACT C12-95812
On May 23, 2012, members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of Chalmers Avenue regarding the report of an indecent act incident involving two young female victims.
 
Officers attended and met with the victims (11 and 8 years of age) and their parents. It was discovered that the two females had been playing at a neighbourhood green space at approximately 5:00 p.m., when an unknown male in a vehicle was observed.
 
The male suspect drove up to the girls at which time he exposed himself. The girls fled the area and notified their parents. No contact was made and no injuries were sustained.
 
A search of the area met with negative results.
 
The suspect and vehicle is described as:
 
  • Caucasian male, late 30's, grey/brown curly hair, scruffy brown beard, wearing round prescription glasses and a striped collared button up shirt.  
  • Dark blue, 4 door car, no front plate with tinted rear windows.
The Winnipeg Police Service East District Crime Unit is continuing to investigate. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact police at 204-986-2857 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY – ARREST C12-95774
On March 23, 2012, at approximately 4:45 p.m., uniform patrol members responded to a commercial robbery incident at a store located in the 500 block of Ellice Avenue.
 
The investigation has revealed that a lone male suspect entered the business and confronted a 45 year old female employee. The suspect produced a knife at which time he took hold of the female victim. An undisclosed amount of cash was taken and the suspect fled the area on foot.
 
The victim was not injured as a result of the incident.
 
Due to the assistance of members of the public, the suspect was located and arrested nearby.
 
Derek John HALL, 25 years has been charged with: Robbery with a Weapon due to his alleged involvement.
 
He was detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
