STRONG ARM ROBBERY INVESTIGATION C12-94307
On May 21, 2012, at approximately 4:20 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 300 block of Flora Avenue regarding an injured 90 year old female.
 
Attending members observed the female to have sustained serious upper body injuries. It was later determined that the victim was listed in stable condition.
 
At this stage of the investigation, it appears that the victim was pushed from behind and robbed of her property. It was reported that two passersby located the victim and assisted her back into her residence, at which time police were notified.
 
Members of the Division 13 Crime Unit continue to investigate. Interviews are ongoing.

STRONG ARM ROBBERY – ARRESTS C12-94529
On May 21, 2012, at approximately 11:20 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service were patrolling in the area of the 1400 block of Portage Avenue when an assault in progress was observed.
 
Officers immediately attended to the area at which time the suspects fled on foot.
 
The investigation has revealed that a 37 year old male victim was confronted by the suspects, assaulted and robbed of his property. He sustained upper body injuries as a result of the incident.
 
Due to the efforts of several District 2 units, four suspects were located, three of which are facing charges. Members of the District 2 Crime Unit continued with the investigation.
 
Two 19 year old males and a 20 year old male are facing a charge of: Robbery with Violence.
  
The victim's property has been recovered.
 
The two 19 year old males were released on a Promise to Appear. The 20 year old male was detained.
 
 
STOLEN VEHICLE – ARRESTS C12-94607
On May 22, 2012, at approximately 3:00 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service observed a stolen vehicle being operated in the area of Notre Dame Avenue and Keewatin Street.
 
The driver of the stolen vehicle fled the area at a high rate of speed, subsequently colliding with a propane tank at a gas station located in the first 100 block of Keewatin Street. After the collision, both suspects fled the area on foot however officers located them a short time later.
 
A 12 year old male is facing the following charges:
 
  • Motor Vehicle Theft
  • Possessing Controlled Drug or Substance - Marihuana
  • HTA – Fail to Remain at the scene of an accident and exchange particulars
  • HTA – Drive without a licence
A 14 year old male passenger is not facing charges.
 
The previously stolen Chevrolet Silverado has been recovered.
 
Both males were released.
