"JUST SLOW DOWN" CAMPAIGN WINS BIG AT THE 2012 SIGNATURE AWARDS GALA EVENT
In 2009, the Winnipeg Police service launched "Just Slow Down", a public service campaign designed to raise awareness of the relationship between higher speeds and the occurrence of fatality and serious injury in a vehicle collision. In each year since the original campaign launch, the "Just Slow Down" message has been reinforced through messaging created by Picante Advertising in collaboration with the Winnipeg Police Service.

The Signature Awards are an annual celebration of local creative talent. Founded in 1988 by the Advertising Association of Winnipeg, this premiere event showcases the best advertising, marketing and design produced in Manitoba the previous year. Judged by an international panel of industry peers, the awards recognize the best in the industry for the categories of print, internet/online, audio/video, campaigns/brands/rebrands, outdoor/display and everything else. Every May during a gala banquet they are honoured.

The 2012 Signature Awards Gala took place on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. Picante Advertising received the following awards for "Just Slow Down".

  • Best Television under $20,000 for "Just Slow Down".
