Please note telephone number correction in the Homicide Investigation - Public Assistance Required Wednesday, May 9, 2011 12:00 a.m. HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION UPDATE-ARREST C11-228497 As previously released on November 1, 2011; at approximately 4:40 a.m. on October 30th, 2011, Winnipeg Police Service members responded to a hotel parking lot in the 1000 block of McPhillips Street for a report of shots being fired. Upon arrival officers located an injured adult male. Paramedics transported the male victim to the hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim was identified as Mohamed Ali OMAR, 28 years of Winnipeg. On May 8, 2012 at approximately 3 p.m., a 26 year old male identified as Abdul BANGURA was located in the area of Louelda Avenue and Antrim Street and arrested for the homicide of Mohamed Ali OMAR. BANGURA has been charged with the following: · Second Degree Murder · Attempt Murder BANGURA has been detained in Provincial Remand Centre. HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION - PUBLIC ASSISTANCE REQUIRED C12-73742 As previously released, on April 24, 2012 at approximately 2:30 am, members of the Winnipeg Police Service and other emergency personnel responded to the area of Notre Dame Avenue and Balmoral Street regarding a stabbing incident. A 26 year old male was located lying on the roadway. He was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The victim was identified as Daniel William Hall, 26 years of Winnipeg. The investigation is continuing by the Homicide Unit and Divisional 11 Crime Unit. Investigators are seeking the public's assistance regarding this matter.
