MALE SHOT C12-86238
On May, 11, 2012, at approximately 12:50 a.m., uniform patrol members responded to an incident involving a firearm discharge at a residence located in the 500 block of Magnus Avenue.
 
Attending members located a 25 year old male with lower body injuries consistent with being shot. He is in stable condition.
 
The investigation has revealed that a suspect(s) entered the home at which time five adults and 2 children were confronted. The victims are as follows:
 
  • 25 year old male – male shot  
  • 37 year old male
  • 30 year old male
  • 26 year old female
  • 59 year old female
  • Two young females
During the incident, it was reported that a canister of bear spray had been discharged resulting in non-life threatening injuries.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact police at 204-986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION INVOLVING A PEDESTRIAN C12-86188
On May 10, 2012, at approximately 11:00 p.m., patrolling members came across an incident in the area of Portage Avenue and Golf Boulevard, where an injured male was being attended by several passersby.
 
The investigation has revealed that a 19 year old male had been struck by a vehicle travelling westbound on Portage Avenue. He is in stable condition.
 
The investigation is continuing.  
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C12-86180
On May 10, 2012, at approximately 10:40 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a commercial robbery incident at a business located in the 3500 block of Pembina Highway.
 
The victim, a 22 year old male employee was confronted by two male suspects and robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash. One of the suspects is believed to have been in possession of a gun at the time of the incident. No injuries were sustained.
 
The suspects are described as:
 
#1 – Male, Aboriginal in appearance, in his 20's, 6'00" tall and large build.
 
#2 - Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 19 years of age, 5'6"-5'7" tall, skinny build and possibly in possession of a gun.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact police at 204-986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
