Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

 

Thursday, May 17, 2012
5:00 p.m.

GARAGE BREAK-IN & DAMAGE - 
ARREST  C12-90176  
On Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at approximately 2:57 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service attended to the area of the 100 block of Arrowwood Drive North regarding a break-in to a garage, theft of property and damage to property at multiple locations. The male suspect responsible for these incidents fled from the area prior to the police arriving.
 
The Flight Operations Unit attended the area and assisted with the tracking of the male suspect. With the assistance of the Flight Operations Unit and the Police K9 Unit, the male suspect was located and arrested in the first 100 block of Coralberry Avenue.
 
Chad Johnathan WILLIAMS, 20 years of Winnipeg has been charged with:
 
  • Break and Enter Commit Indictable Offence
  • Mischief Under $5000 X 3
  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance X 2
 
WILLIAMS was detained in custody.
 
 
 
HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION UPDATE -
C12-90883
As previously released earlier today, May 17, 2012, at 11:30 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 600 block of Sargent Avenue for report of an injured male.
 
Police arrived on scene and located an injured adult male. Paramedics attended and transported the male to the hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced deceased.
 
As a result of continued investigation by members of the Homicide Unit, an adult male and adult female are in custody in relation to this incident with charges pending.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Homicide Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6508 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477)
 
 
 
GRADUATION OF WINNIPEG POLICE SERVICE
RECRUIT CLASS #152
The Winnipeg Police Service is pleased to announce the graduation of 48 police recruits from Recruit Class #152.
 
The graduation ceremony will be held tomorrow, Friday, May 18, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the Winnipeg Convention Centre, 375 York Avenue. Members of the public and the media are invited to attend.
 
The recruit class consists of 38 male members and 10 female members.
