Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

RESIDENTIAL ROBBERY      C12-157007
On Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at approximately 11:00 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of the 500 block of Selkirk Avenue regarding a residential robbery.
 
The investigation revealed that four male suspects armed with weapons attended to this location and confronted a 22 year old female; a 22 year old male and a 25 year old male. The suspects demanded cash and stole personal property. The suspects fled from the residence with stolen personal property.
 
The 22 year old male victim sustained minor injury to his upper body as a result of this incident.
 
The suspects are described as following:
  • Suspect #1:   Male, Caucasian, 18-25 years old,, 5'8" – 5'9" tall, medium build with blue eyes
  • Suspect #2: Male, 18-25 years old, 5'8"-6'0" tall, average build 
  • Suspect #3: Male, 18-25 years old, 5'8"-6'0" tall, average build 
  • Suspect #4: Male, 18-25 years old, 5'8"-6'0" tall, average build

SEXUAL ASSAULT INVESTIGATION    C12-156868
On Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at approximately 8:10 p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service attended to the area of 100 block of Henry Street regarding a sexual assault incident.
 
The investigation revealed that a 24 year old female victim was walking in the area of the 600 block of Main Street when a male suspect armed with a weapon approached the victim from behind and grabbed her. The suspect attempted to pull the victim to into nearby low lying bush area, however the victim was able to break free from the suspects grip and fled from location to safety.
 
The victim was not physically injured as a result of this incident.
 
The suspect is described as following:
  • Male, Aboriginal in appearance, approximately 30 years old, long dark hair, thick build with large belly and an acne scarred face. The male was wearing a black sweater with a hood, and black shorts
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Sex Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact police at 204-986-6245 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
FINANCIAL INSTITUTION ROBBERY
C12-155667
On Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service attended to the 600 block of Notre Dame Avenue regarding a robbery of a financial institution.
 
The investigation revealed that a lone male suspect attended to this location and approached a 25 year old female employee. The suspect demanded and received an undisclosed amount of cash and immediately fled from the location.
 
The victim was not injured during this incident.
 
The suspect is described as following:
  • Male, Aboriginal in appearance, approximately 20-25 years old, 5'7" – 6'0" tall, medium build, short dark hair
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact police at 204-986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
