Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

 

  August 3, 2012

 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY ARREST – C12-151673
As previously released, on August 1, 2012 at approximately 9:00 p.m. a member of the public flagged down a passing General Patrol Unit in the 400 block of Mountain Avenue where three male youths were planning to rob a convenience store. Three youth's ages, 13, 14 and 15 were arrested for Conspiracy to Commit the Indictable Offence of Robbery and firearms related offences.
 
On August 2, 2012 a fourth male youth was arrested in relation to this event. The 17 year old has been charged with the following offences:
 
  • Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence of Robbery
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x 2
 He was detained in custody.
 
 
ANIMAL CRUELTY ARREST – C12-139140
As previously released, on July 17, 2012 at approximately 12:30 a.m. emergency personnel responded to the 500 block of Pritchard Avenue for the report of a Disturbance.
 
Investigation revealed that two female suspects, armed with baseball bats, attended to a residence of a female who is known to them. As a result of an on-going dispute between the females, one of the armed suspects struck a three month old male cat owned by the female resident. The kitten sustained severe injuries. The female resident retreated to the safety of her residence at which time the second suspect used the bat to break a window of the home.
 
A 23 year old female of Winnipeg was arrested later in the day and is facing the following Charges:
 
  • Injuring or Killing Animals
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
A Warrant for Arrest for the second suspect was obtained and on August 2, 2012 a 22 year old female turned herself in at the District 3 Station.
 
Delia Ashley CLARKE, 22 years of Winnipeg was charged with the following offences:
 
  • Mischief Under $5000.00
  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
She was detained in custody.
 
 
SEXUAL ASSAULT    C12-152220
On Thursday, August 2, 2012 at approximately 2:30 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service General Patrol Units responded to the report of a Sexual Assault in the 100 block of Goulet Street.
 
A 52 year old female victim advised while walking westbound on the sidewalk an unknown male rode up from behind on a bicycle and sexually assaulted her. She was uninjured.
 
The male left the location on the bicycle and was described as:
 
Aboriginal in appearance, 20 years of age, skinny build, dark hair, balding, wearing prescription glasses and dark clothing. The bicycle was orange in colour.
 
The Winnipeg Police Service is asking anyone who may have witness the assault to contact the East District Station Crime Unit at 204-986-2857 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
