STRONGARM ROBBERY   C12-164258
On Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 5:40 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service attended to the area of the 700 block of Burrows Avenue regarding the report of a strongarm robbery.
 
The investigation revealed that a 37 year old male victim was walking in the area of Redwood Avenue and McGregor Street at approximately 3:00 a.m., when he was approached from behind by three unknown males. The three suspects proceeded to assault the victim causing injury to his upper body. The suspects then stole the victim's personal property and fled from the area.
 
The victim was conveyed to hospital in unstable condition and was later upgraded to stable.
 
Suspects are described as males wearing dark clothing.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the District 3 Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-2848 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY           C12-165711
On Monday, August 20, 2012 at 1:50 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service attended to the area of the 1800 block of Main Street regarding a commercial robbery of a convenience store.
 
The investigation revealed that a lone male suspect attended to this location armed with a weapon, and approached a 31 year old female employee. The male suspect demanded and fled from the location with goods totalling approximately $1200 dollars.
 
The victim did not sustain injury as a result of this incident.
 
The suspect in this matter is described as:  Male, Caucasian, 23-29 years old, approximately 5'9" tall, medium build and clean shaven.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
