COMMERCIAL ROBBERY ARREST - C12-150477
On Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at approximately 9:55 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service General Patrol and Plain Clothes Officers were dispatched to the report of a commercial robbery in the 200 block of Talbot Avenue. 
 
A 24 year old adult male attended to a convenience store at that location, placed several items on the counter and briefly left the store. He returned moments later with a knife and told the clerk it was a Robbery. 
 
The owner of the store observed this transpire. The suspect took the items from the counter and ran from the store being followed by the owner. An off duty Winnipeg Police Service Cadet was in the area and observed the chase. He assisted the owner by accompanying him in the pursuit and notifying police.
 
The suspect was located a short time later by General Patrol members.
 
Roman Tyson SINCLAIR, 24 years of Winnipeg was charged with the following offences:
 
  • Robbery with a Weapon
  • Fail to Comply with Conditions of a Recognizance x 2
  • Warrant for Arrest Fail to Comply with Recognizance
  • Warrant for Arrest Fail to Appear in Court
  • Warrant for Arrest Mischief Under $5000
 
Sinclair was detained in custody.
 
 
CHILD ABUSE IMAGERY AND SEXUAL ASSAULT ARREST        R12-73924
In November 2011, members of the Winnipeg Police Service Vice Unit entered into a long term investigation targeting at risk youth being exploited.
 
In July of 2012 the investigation expanded and numerous units within the Winnipeg Police Service partnered to move the investigation forward. The investigation involved the collaborative work of the following WPS Units; Vice, Internet Child Exploitation, Missing Persons, and Technological Crime in conjunction with Social Service Agencies including Child and Family Service and the Child Protection Branch.
 
 
 
As a result of this investigation Darrell Erwin ACKMAN, 43 years, of Winnipeg has been charged with the following offences:
 
  • Living on the Avails of Prostitution x 3
  • Sexual Assault x 2
  • Sexual Interference x2
  • Make/Print/Publish Child Pornography
  • Possessing Child Pornography
  • Invitation to Sexual Touching.
 
Ackman had been detained in custody.
