WEAPONS ARREST – C12-152915
On Friday, August 3, 2012 at approximately 12:00 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service General Patrol members and Tactical Support Team were dispatched to the 700 block of McAdam Avenue regarding the report of a male armed with a firearm.
 
Attending officers secured the immediate area and a short time later 3 males were taken into custody. Within the residence officers located the following:
 
·        two firearms (pellet pistols)
·        marihuana grow operation consisting of 25 plants with an estimated street value of $28,000.00
·        10 grams of marihuana with a street value of $100.00
·        grow operation equipment valued at $1,000.00
 
The three accused were turned over to members of the Division 11 Crime Unit who continued the investigation.
 
Two male youths, aged 16 and 17 have been detained in custody. The 21 year old male has been released on a Promise to Appear. All three face firearm and drug related charges.
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY – C12-152596
On Friday, August 3, 2012 at approximately 12:30 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the 300 block of Henderson Highway regarding a Commercial Robbery.
 
Attending officers learned that a male had entered the business and attended to the counter brandishing a firearm. The male demanded and received an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes after which he fled the store.
 
A short time later the accused was located in the area of Brazier Street and Jamison Avenue where he was taken into custody.
 
A sixteen year old male has been detained in custody and charged with the following:
 
  • Robbery with Firearm
  • Disguise with Intent
  • Fail to Comply with Condition Undertaking x 2

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT – C12-153467
On Saturday, August 4, 2012 at approximately 3:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the first block of Fidler Avenue regarding the report of a male being assaulted.
 
Attending officers located an injured adult male who had been physically assaulted. The victim was transported to hospital where he remains in critical condition.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the District 2 Crime Unit. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-2839 or CrimeStoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
