Monday, August 6th, 2012
 
FIRE INCIDENT - C12-154781
On Sunday, August 5th, 2012 at approximately 11:00 p.m. Emergency Service personnel were dispatched to the 400 block of College Avenue regarding a residential fire.
 
Damage to the vacant home and contents has been estimated at $200,000.00. 
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Arson Strike Force.

SHOTS FIRED - C12-154848
On August 6th, 2012 at approximately 1:00 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service Division 13 Uniform Members responded to a residence within the 100 block of Argyle Street North for a report of shots fired into a residence. 
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.

COMMERCIAL ROBBERY - C12-154846
On Monday, August 6th, 2012 shortly after 1:00 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service Members responded to the area of Main Street and Inkster Avenue for the report of a commercial robbery that had just occurred to a taxi cab driver. 
 
Upon arrival officers met with the 43 year old male victim and learned that at approximately 12:45 a.m., the victim was operating a taxi cab when he picked up three males near Main Street and Kingsbury Avenue. One of the males produced a knife and demanded money.
 
The suspects received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled the scene. The victim did not sustain any injuries during the robbery. 
 
No description of the suspects is available at this time. 
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Division 13 Crime Unit.

MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION UPDATE – C12-154243
As previously released, on Sunday, August 5th, 2012 at approximately 3:00 a.m. members of the Winnipeg Police Service were dispatched to the 600 block of Portage Avenue regarding the report of a motor vehicle collision.
 
Attending officers learned that a vehicle travelling west bound on Portage Avenue had left the road and struck a building.
 
There were four adults and one youth within the vehicle. All were transported to hospital, two of the adults in unstable condition while the other three occupants were in stable condition. All have since been released from hospital.
 
Investigation has revealed that a Mazda 6 and an unknown silver vehicle were travelling westbound on Portage Avenue. The driver of the unknown vehicle began driving erratically, cutting the Mazda 6 off which resulted with the driver of the Mazda 6 losing control and striking the building.
