Winnipeg Police Service News Release

MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISON INVOLVING A PEDESTRIAN UPDATE      C11-263049
As previously released, on Tuesday, December 20th, 2011 just before 12:20 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service Members, along with emergency services responders attended to the area of Henderson Highway and Chief Peguis Trail for a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a transit bus and a pedestrian. 
 
Paramedics attended and transported the 84 year old male pedestrian to the hospital in critical condition, where he remains.
 
Eastbound Chief Peguis Trail has since been re-opened to traffic. 
 
This investigation is continuing by members of the Central Traffic Unit.  No further updates are available at this time.   
 
 
MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION INTO OVERPASS                   C11-263132
On Tuesday, December 20th, 2011 at approximately 2:00 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service Members responded to the area of the Rothesay Street and Chief Peguis Trail overpass after reports that dump truck had struck the overpass. 
 
As a result, both north and southbound Rothesay Street overpass, as well as the eastbound lanes of Chief Peguis Trail have been closed.
 
Motorists are requested to avoid the area and choose an alternate route.
