Saturday, December 24, 2011 MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION C11-265457 On December 24, 2011, at approximately 12:25 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service were travelling eastbound on Broadway approaching Main Street after being dispatched to a call for service. Officers were responding to an incident in progress, and as a result the cruiser car's emergency equipment was activated. It was at this time, a taxi cab travelling southbound on Main Street entered the intersection where both vehicles collided. The 21 year old male cab driver was not injured. A 22 year old male passenger sustained a minor upper body injury and was treated at the scene. One officer was conveyed to hospital, treated and released. The investigation is continuing. COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C11-265538 On December 24, 2011, at approximately 2:55 a.m., uniform patrol members responded to a robbery incident at a convenience store located in the 1800 block of Main Street. The investigation has revealed that an armed male suspect, described as: Caucasian, 23-27 years of age, 110-120 lbs. and skinny build confronted a 30 year old female clerk. Cash and cigarettes were demanded and an undisclosed amount was obtained. The clerk was not injured and the suspect fled the area. The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
