Saturday, May 28th, 2011 MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION INVOLVING PEDESTRIAN C11-108276 On May 27th, 2011, emergency personnel were dispatched to the area of Portage Avenue and Lipton Street regarding a serious motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian and City of Winnipeg Transit Bus. The investigation has revealed that at approximately 5:00 p.m., a 25 year old female pedestrian was crossing Portage Avenue northbound between intersections when she was struck by a westbound Transit Bus travelling in the diamond lane. The pedestrian was conveyed to hospital initially in stable condition, but has since been downgraded to critical condition due to significant upper body injuries. The investigation is continuing by members of the Central Traffic Unit.
