Tuesday, May 24th, 2011 4:00 p.m. BOATING PROHIBITION LIFTED The Red and Assiniboine rivers are now at, or near normal spring runoff levels and flows. As such, the Winnipeg Police Service River Patrol Section is lifting the boating prohibition that was issued in mid April. The River Patrol urges all users of the rivers to still exercise caution while on the river. All City of Winnipeg boat launches remain closed due to high water levels. The Winnipeg Police Service would like to thank all users of the river that were affected by the prohibition for their patience. For current river conditions please refer to the following link: For further information contact either: Constable Natalie Aitken, Public Information Officer Constable Jason Michalyshen, Public Information Officer Office: (204)986-3061 Fax: (204) 986-3267 Email: WPS-PIO@Winnipeg.ca Web: www.winnipeg.ca/Police |
