Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

****PLEASE NOTE CORRECTED DATE IN BOLD**** Sunday, May 1, 2011    SEXUAL ASSAULT C11-85831 On April 30, 2011, at approximately 9:15 a.m., uniform members were dispatched to attend a local hospital regarding the report of a sexual assault which had occurred several hours earlier.   Attending members spoke with a 27 year old female victim who indicated that she had been walking with a friend in the rear lane of the 900 block of Jubilee Avenue at approximately 12:45 a.m., when she heard the sounds of someone riding a bike in the area.    Moments later, the victim felt someone place their hands on her waist and push her to the ground. The suspect proceeded to pull at the victim's jacket and sexually assault her to the lower body.   The victim began yelling out and the suspect fled the area on his bike in the direction of Pembina Highway.   The victim made her way home and subsequently notified police.   The suspect is described as: Male, Caucasian, 20-30 years of age, 5'5"-5'7" in height, slim to medium build, short blonde hair, wearing: a blue sweater or jacket, white or grey baseball cap, riding a blue or black coloured bike.   The investigation is continuing by members of the Sex Crimes Unit.
