RESIDENTIAL BREAK AND ENTER- ARREST C13-154957

On August 4, 2013 at approximately 5:20 a.m. Winnipeg Police Service Uniform Members responded to a residence within the 900 block of Carter Avenue for a report of a break and enter that had just occurred by a lone male suspect. 
 
Upon arrival officers met with the two female occupants of the residence, aged 25 and 26 years, and it was learned that the suspect, who was armed with a weapon, had entered the home and awoke the 25 year old victim.  The female victim screamed out for help when the suspect made sexual demands of her.  The victim's calls for help stopped the assault, and alerted the other female resident.  The suspect verbally threatened both victims while fleeing the residence.   
 
Members of the Division 12 Community Support and Crime Units continued with this investigation and a suspect was identified.
 
At approximately 3:15 p.m. the suspect was located within the 900 block of Carter Avenue where he was taken into custody without incident.  A search warrant was also executed at a residence in the area. 
 
As a result of his alleged involvement in this incident; Richard Raymond DYCK, 27 years of Winnipeg is facing the following charges:

  • Break, Enter Dwelling House- Commit Indictable Offence
  • Disguise With Intent
  • Sexual Assault with a Weapon
  • Utter Threats
  • Utter Threats to Kill
  • Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Possess Counterfeit Money

He has been detained at the Provincial Remand Centre.
