MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION C13-163768
On August 16, 2013 just prior to midnight, the driver of a motorcycle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed while in the St. Vital area of the city.
 
The motorcycle was initially observed travelling northbound on St. Anne's Road near Hull Avenue.
 
The driver of the motorcycle appeared to be driving in an erratic matter having no regard for public safety.
 
Due to the manner of driving by the motorcyclist, a collision occurred involving a parked vehicle in the area of the 1000 block of Archibald Street. The 27 year-old-male driver sustained injuries and was transported from the scene in unstable condition, he was later upgraded to stable condition.
 
The investigation is on-going, charges are pending.
 
 
STABBING C13-163885
On August 16, 2013, at approximately 5:20 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service including other emergency personnel responded to the area of Sherbrook Street and Ellice Avenue regarding a stabbing incident involving a 20 year old female victim.
 
At this time, it appears that the victim was confronted by a male and female suspect and stabbed causing an injury. The victim was observed by a passer-by at which time emergency services was notified.
 
The victim is in stable condition and the investigation is continuing by members of the Division 11 Crime Unit.
 
No arrest(s) have been made at this time.

ROBBERY INVESTIGATION – C13-163790
On August 16, 2013 at approximately 12:45 a.m., officers responded to the area of Pearl Street and Notre Dame Avenue regarding a robbery incident.
 
The investigation has revealed that three males were confronted by three suspects while walking in the area. Property was taken and a physical altercation erupted.
 
During the incident, one of the suspects produced a firearm, pointing it in the direction of the victims and physically assaulting one of them. Minor injuries were sustained.
 
Police received reports that the firearm was discharged however, no one was injured.
 
The investigation is continuing by members of the Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information regarding this matter is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY C13-163666
On August 15, 2013 at approximately 9:55 p.m., officers responded to a business located in the 1300 block of Main Street regarding a robbery incident.
 
The investigation has revealed that an armed male suspect entered and attempted to rob the business. The suspect attended behind the counter and confronted a 62 year-old-female employee with a knife. The suspect demanded money however fled empty handed.
 
The suspect is described as: Male, Aboriginal in appearance, 25-30 years-old, approximately 5'5" tall and short hair.
