FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION – C13-168678
On Thursday, August 22, 2013 at approximately 2:45 p.m. emergency personnel were dispatched to the 400 block of Oakview Avenue for the report of a motor vehicle collision.
 
Attending members discovered an 86 year old male suffering from injuries sustained when he was struck by a vehicle.  He was transported to hospital in critical condition where he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
Investigation has revealed that an 84 year old female had been parking a car when she accidentally drove into the male.
 
The name of the victim will not be released.
 
 
CANADA WIDE WARRANT ARREST – C13-168923
On July 8, 2013 James Albert BEARDY, 50 years was released on parole from the Stony Mountain Institution after having been convicted of Aggravated Assault.
 
BEARDY was alleged to have breached his parole conditions and a Canada wide warrant for his arrest was issued.  
 
On Thursday, August 22, 2013 members of the Manitoba Integrated Warrant Apprehension Unit, with the assistance of K9 and AIR1 arrested BEARDY in the 500 block of Alfred Avenue without incident.
 
He has been returned to the Stony Mountain Institution.
