CANADIAN ASSOCIATION OF CHIEFS OF POLICE (CACP) CONFERENCE AND TRADESHOW

The Winnipeg Police Service is proud to announce that we are hosting the 108th annual Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP) Conference and Tradeshow from  August  18 to 21, 2013.  Approximately 400 delegates and exhibitors from across North America will be in attendance.

The Winnipeg Police Service has selected the conference theme Communication: At the Centre of It All to highlight the valuable opportunity the conference provides to law enforcement leaders in learning leading edge research and best practices.

The Professional Development Program promises a platform for discussion on a variety of topics regarding issues that affect police management.  Some of these include, social media implications, communications risk management and a presentation highlighting the Winnipeg Police Service's successful Cadet Program.

The tradeshow will showcase current products, services and technology available to emergency services personnel.    Members of the media are invited to attend the Tradeshow on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, between 09:00 a.m.  and 3:30 p.m.  at the Winnipeg Convention Centre.

The CACP is the national voice of policing, advocating for progressive change and dedicated to promoting efficient law enforcement practices. The CACP believes that quality police service:

-Must enhance the safety and development of communities;
-Requires continuous learning for professional excellence and pride;
-Is premised on integrity and accountability;
-Requires empowerment to produce innovation and creativity.

The conference also enables us to showcase the City of Winnipeg and will highlight the various tourist attractions we have to offer.
