MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISON INVOLVING A PEDESTRIAN- ARREST C11-263049
As previously released, at approximately 12:20 p.m. on Tuesday December 20th, 2011 members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a report of a pedestrian – motor vehicle collision involving a City of Winnipeg Transit bus in the east-bound lane of Chief Peguis Trail just west of Henderson Highway. An 84 year old male was conveyed to the hospital suffering serious lower-body injuries.
 
The investigation by members of the Central Traffic Unit determined that the injured male had in fact been a passenger on the bus.  The male was injured as he exited the bus at a bus stop.
 
In addition, as a result of the investigation, the 42 year old male bus driver has been arrested and charged with Criminal Negligence Causing Bodily Harm.  He has been released on a promise to appear in court.
 
 
SEXUAL ASSAULT                                               C12-10934
On January 18, 2012 at approximately 11:45 a.m. a 19 year old female exited a Transit bus at the intersection of Fermor Avenue and St. Mary's Road. An adult male exited the bus at the same time and headed in the same direction as the female. 
 
A short distance later the male suspect walked up beside the female victim and sexually assaulted her. The suspect then fled the area. The victim was not injured.
 
The male suspect is described as Asian, 30 – 40 years old, average build, wearing a short heavy black jacket.
 
The investigation is continuing by East District detectives. Anyone who has information regarding this incident is asked to contact 986-2859 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
 
 
COMMERCIAL ROBBERY                                   C12-10999
On January 18, 2011 at approximately 10:00 p.m., Winnipeg Police general patrol members were dispatched to a convenience store in the 1000 block of Autumnwood Drive for a commercial robbery that just had occurred.
 
Two males, armed with knives, entered a convenience store and robbed the clerk of cigarettes. The males then fled the area. There were no injuries.
 
The male suspects are described as Caucasian, approximately 17 – 25 years old both approximately 6 feet tall with medium builds, both were wearing dark clothing.
The investigation is continuing and anyone who has any information regarding this incident or the suspects involved is asked to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
