SUDDEN DEATH INVESTIGATION – UPDATE C12-924
As previously released, on January 2nd, 2012, shortly after 1:00 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service Division 16 Members were called to the 1st 100 block of Chancellors Circle, within the University of Manitoba, after a passer-by located a male that appeared to be deceased.  
 
Upon arrival officers located an adult male. Paramedics transported the male to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. 
 
The investigation continued by Division 16 members, with the assistance of the Identification Unit. The male's identity has been confirmed and notifications are pending.
 
Foul play is not suspected and no further details will be provided.
 
 
ROBBERY INVESTIGATION – ARRESTS C12-1830
On January 4, 2012, at approximately 12:30 a.m., uniform members responded to the 2000 Pembina Highway regarding a robbery incident.
 
The investigation has revealed that 3 adult males (22, 22, 23 years of age) were confronted by several male suspects armed with knives. The victims were robbed of personal property which included; wallets, cash, identification, backpack, textbook and laptop. No one was injured as a result of the incident.
 
The suspects fled the area and police were notified.
 
Due to the efforts of uniform members and the Canine Unit, three 16 year old males were located in the area of Pembina Highway and Markham Road. The recovery of the stolen property was also made.
 
All three suspects are facing robbery related offences which include: Robbery with a Weapon, Possess Weapon for Dangerous Purpose and Wear Disguise. 
 
Two of the male youths arrested have been detained. The third youth was released on a Promise to Appear.
 
 
SHOTS C12-1953
On January 4, 2012, at approximately 8:00 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of the 600 block of Victor Street regarding the sound of shots.
 
Attending members have located damage to a residence however no injuries have been reported.
 
Police resources remain at the scene. No further details are available at this time.
 
Members of the Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate.
