BREAK, ENTER AND THEFT – ARRESTS C12-2508
On January 5, 2012, at approximately 2:50 a.m., Uniform Patrol members, including Air1 responded to the area of the 300 block of Conway Street regarding damage to property in progress.  
 
The investigation has revealed that three suspects became involved in a crime spree involving the following matters:
 
·        300 block of Conway Street – after stealing a shovel nearby, proceeded to smash a window of a parked vehicle.
·        400 block of Conway Street – broke into a parked vehicle.
·        400 block of Parkview Street – one of the suspects broke into a residence, where a purse and keys to a vehicle were stolen.
·        400 block of Parkview Street – vehicle stolen by one of the suspects.
 
At approximately 3:15 a.m., officers located two of the suspects in the area of Ness Avenue and Winchester Street due to the assistance of Air1. A 19 year old male and 16 year old male were taken into custody.
 
At approximately 5:40 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop involving the third suspect who was operating the stolen vehicle in the area of St. John's Avenue and Charles Street. A 17 year old male was arrested at this time.
 
The investigation continued by members of the District 2 Crime Unit. The males are facing numerous charges in relation to the previous incidents mentioned.
 
The 16 year old and 19 year old have been detained. The 17 year old was released on a Promise to Appear.
 
 
DRUG AND WEAPON INVESTIGATION – ARRESTS C12-2707
On January 5, 2012, at approximately 11:55 a.m., Uniform Patrol members, including the Tactical Support Team responded to the area of the 300 block of Langside Street regarding the report of drug activity and the possibility of weapons being present.
 
Officers attended to the residence where they made contact with a 59 year old male. A firearm improperly stored was located and the male was placed under arrest. He is facing several firearm related offences and was released on a Promise to Appear.
 
Three additional suspects fled the area on foot. After a foot pursuit, a 21 year old female was arrested near the rear of the 300 block of Portage Avenue.
 
The remaining two suspects, a 21 year old male and 17 year old male, were arrested in the area of Osborne Street and Pembina Highway after boarding a transit bus.
 
The 21 year old female was found to be in possession of a quantity of Crack Cocaine. The 21 year old male was found to be in possession of Oxycodone pills and a knife.
 
The three remaining suspects are facing several drug and weapon related offences. They were detained.
