Winnipeg Police Service News Release:

FIREARM ARREST – C12-12602
 
On January 21, 2012, at approximately 12:36p.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a Family Trouble call in the area of Brewer Crescent and Molson St. 
 
Attending members located a male hiding in the basement and discovered the male in possession of ammunition and a prohibited firearm. During the investigation police also discovered the male was wanted for failing to comply with his Probation Order.
 
Police arrested and charged:
 
Charles Matthew WESLEY – 22 years old
 
Warrant of Arrest – Fail to Comply Probation
Breach Probation
Possess Weapon Dangerous Public Peace
Careless Use Firearm – Unsafe Storage
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
Possession of Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition
 
This accused was detained at the Winnipeg Remand Center.
 
 
SHOTS – C12-13046
 
On January 22, 2012, at approximately 2:15 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the sound of shots in the area of the Princess St and Bannatyne Ave. 
 
Attending member's located evidence to support a firearm discharge took place in the area. No injuries have been reported at this time.
 
The investigating is ongoing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.
