Winnipeg Police Service News Release

COMMERICAL ROBBERY               C12-9735
On January 16th, 2012 shortly after 10:00 p.m. Winnipeg Police Service East District Members responded to a restaurant within the 1600 block of Regent Avenue West for a report of commercial robbery that had just occurred by a lone male. 
 
Upon arrival officers met with the two employees, who were not injured, and learned that a male had entered the restaurant and approached them.  The male indicated that he would like to purchase a drink, but then immediately implied he was armed with a weapon and demanded cash from the employees. 
 
The suspect male fled the location with an undisclosed amount of cash and police were notified.  Neither clerk was injured during the incident. 
 
The suspect is described as: 
 
-          Black Male, in his mid 20's, approximately 5'10" tall with a medium build.  He was wearing a dark jacket and dark coloured gloves.
 
This investigation is ongoing by members of the Major Crimes Unit.  Anyone who has information regarding the suspect or this incident is asked to contact investigators at 986-6219 or CrimeStoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
