Winnipeg Police Service News Release

Wednesday, January 18th, 2012 3:50 p.m.     MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION- ROAD CLOSURE- UPDATE C12-10778 As previously released, on January 18th, 2012 at approximately 2:30 p.m. emergency services responders were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on the Disraeli Bridge near Henderson Highway.   Upon arrival officers located a vehicle on the river bank below the bridge.  One individual has been transported to the hospital in unstable condition.    Emergency services personnel are expected to remain on scene for several hours.   Southbound Henderson Highway is closed at Redwood Avenue.     Motorists are requested to avoid the area and choose an alternate route.        No further information is available at this time.   For further information contact either: Constable Natalie Aitken, Public Information Officer Constable Jason Michalyshen, Public Information Officer Office: (204)986-3061 Fax: (204) 986-3267 Email: WPS-PIO@Winnipeg.ca   Web: www.winnipeg.ca/Police
