Winnipeg Police Service News Release

Sunday, October 30th, 2011 2:20 p.m.     FIRE- ROADWAY RE-OPENED          C11-228612 On October 30th, 2011 just before 11:00 a.m. a patrolling police unit observed a working fire at an apartment block located within the 1000 block of Henderson Highway.   Emergency services personnel were dispatched to assist.      A 75 year old female was transported to the hospital in unstable condition and she has since been upgraded to stable condition.   Both north and southbound Henderson Highway has now been re-opened to traffic. The Winnipeg Police Service would like to thank motorists for their patience.   A cause of the fire has not yet been determined.           For further information contact either: Constable Natalie Aitken, Public Information Officer Constable Jason Michalyshen, Public Information Officer Office: (204)986-3061 Fax: (204) 986-3267 Email: WPS-PIO@Winnipeg.ca   Web: www.winnipeg.ca/Police
